Hooman for Hire runs 7 days a week, 8am to 8pm because Anchorage households don't run on the same schedule, and your dog's care shouldn't depend on whether yours does.
We specialize in recurring weekly walks and trail adventures, and we ask our clients to commit to at least one weekly service so we can build the kind of consistency that actually shows up in your dog's behavior. A visit here and there is fine in a pinch but we are designed for is something more reliable and impactful.
Most clients see a difference with 3–5 visits per week and their dogs make it pretty clear they agree.

We're built for consistency. Most clients schedule three or more walks per week — and that's where the real difference shows up, in your dog's behavior, routine, and overall happiness.

GPS tracking, arrival notifications, post-walk photos, and a visit report after every single service. You'll always know how the walk went, even when you're three meetings deep.

We walk in January. We know the trails, the neighborhoods, and what it means to care for dogs in a place where the weather has opinions. If your workday isn't canceled, neither is your dog's walk.

Every Hooman is a background-checked, trained W2 employee — not a gig worker from an app. There's a manager overseeing every route, every day. That's what accountability actually looks like.

Every walker is an employee — trained, background checked, and supported by manager oversight on every route with established processes. No gig workers, no strangers from an app. Just a solid, professional team that shows up.
We do not take shortcuts. Each walk is intentionally designed to support your dog's physical health, mental engagement, and behavioral wellbeing — a dog who is truly fulfilled is a dog who thrives at home.
After every walk you'll get photos, a route summary, and a note from your walker. And because our team understands breed differences, behavioral quirks, and what to watch for health-wise, those updates actually mean something.
We've walked Anchorage dogs through January blizzards, breakup mud, and everything in between.
If the weather isn't canceling your workday, it's not canceling your dog's walk.
We provide professional dog walking services throughout Anchorage, Eagle River, and Chugiak, including neighborhoods such as South Anchorage, Potter Valley, Hillside, Chugiak, Highland, and surrounding Eagle River Nature Center.

Yes — and it's the foundation of how we work. Most of our clients schedule services which can be automatically renewed for consistency. Recurring care is the most effective way to support your dog's long-term health, behavior, and routine — and it comes with priority scheduling and our best member rates.
Not at all! Every pup has different needs and our services are meant to be tailored to them.
Balanced Walks are 45 minute neighborhood-based walks focused on routine, bathroom needs, and steady light exercise. They're great for dogs with lower to moderate activity levels, pups who enjoy familiar routes within their neighborhood, or dogs that need a shorter outing with some extra post-walk adoration.
Signature Walks & Adventures are longer, more immersive outings. They may include local trail exploration, extended mental stimulation, and exploration at Kincaid Park or Alaska's Scenic Hiking Trails. These are designed for dogs who benefit from more movement, more engagement, more exploration, and more variety.
Both options are enrichment-focused and professionally managed. Our manager will help you find the right fit during your Consultation.
We operate as a professional team, and consistency is something we prioritize. For most Members, your dog will see familiar faces on a regular basis, generally ranging between 1-3 Hoomans. While we aim to prioritize a familiar walker for your pup, we also offer reliability through our team.
Our team-based model means that if a schedule change ever occurs, your dog's care never skips a beat. Every team member is trained on our procedures, briefed on your pet's profile, and held to the same standards.
After every walk, you’ll receive a detailed update including photos, videos, and a detailed summary of your dog’s experience.
This allows you to stay connected and confident in your pet’s care while you’re away.
Yes — our services are designed specifically for households with demanding schedules.
Many of our clients include:
• medical professionals
• slope workers
• military families
• busy professionals
We provide reliable care during long workdays so your dog’s needs are consistently met.
If your schedule rotates or changes week to week, let us know during setup. We're experienced at building flexible plans for non-traditional schedules, including slope workers, hospital staff, and military families.
Absolutely. When we build your plan during onboarding, our manager will work with you to create a custom weekly schedule that reflects your dog's needs — and your member rates apply across the board, regardless of which services you mix.
Recurring schedules renew automatically each week, along with a confirmation, so you don't have to remember to submit your request. We can always adjust as your dog's routine evolves, and we can pause services short-term to accommodate rotating work schedules with advance notice.
