Frequently Asked Questions

Which Areas Do You Offer Dog Walking?

We provide professional dog walking services throughout Anchorage, Eagle River, Chugiak, and JBER, including neighborhoods such as South Anchorage, Potter Valley, Hillside, Chugiak, Highland, and surrounding Eagle River Nature Center.

Don't see your neighborhood listed? Contact us — we're always happy to confirm coverage for your specific address.

Do You Offer Recurring Dog Walking Services?

Yes — and it's the foundation of how we work. Most of our clients schedule recurring weekly services, set up during onboarding and automatically renewed for consistency. Recurring care is the most effective way to support your dog's long-term health, behavior, and routine — and it comes with priority scheduling and our best member rates.

What Is The Difference Between Essential Walks and Signature or Adventure Walks?

Essential and Balanced Walks (30–45 minutes) are neighborhood-based — focused on routine, bathroom needs, and steady light exercise. They're great for lower-energy dogs or as supplemental visits on adventure days.

Signature and Adventure Walks (60–120 minutes) are longer, more immersive outings. They may include local trail exploration, extended mental stimulation, and travel beyond your neighborhood to destinations like Kincaid Park or Alaska's Scenic Hiking Trails. These are designed for dogs who benefit from more movement, more engagement, and more variety.

Both options are enrichment-focused and professionally managed. We'll help you find the right fit during your Meet & Greet.

How Long Are Walks With Hoomans?

We offer five walk durations to match your dog's energy level and goals:

30 min — Essential

45 min — Balanced

60 min — Signature

90 min — Signature Adventure

120 min — Premium Adventure

We'll help you choose the right option — or build a mix — based on your dog's needs.

Will My Dog Have The Same Walker Each Time?

We operate as a professional team, and consistency is something we prioritize. In most cases, your dog will see familiar faces on a regular basis.

Our team-based model also means that if a schedule change ever occurs, your dog's care never skips a beat — because every team member is trained on our procedures, briefed on your pet's profile, and held to the same standards.

What Happens After Each Walk?

After every visit, you’ll receive a detailed update including photos and a summary of your dog’s walk.

This allows you to stay connected and confident in your pet’s care while you’re away.

Are Your Services A Good Fit For Busy Work Schedules?

Yes — our services are designed specifically for households with demanding schedules.

Many of our clients include:

• medical professionals
• slope workers
• military families
• busy professionals

We provide reliable care during long workdays so your dog’s needs are consistently met.

If your schedule rotates or changes week to week, let us know during setup — we're experienced at building flexible plans for non-traditional schedules, including slope workers, hospital staff, and military families.

What Types Of Dogs Do You Walk?

We work with a wide range of dog breeds, from puppies to senior dogs. We have experience with helping newly adopted dogs transition to their new homes and offering consistency for show dogs or cherished family pets.

During your consultation, we’ll learn about your dog’s personality, energy level, and needs to create the right walking plan.

We also have experience working with newly adopted dogs still settling into a routine, senior dogs with special needs, and high-energy breeds that need more structured engagement. If you have a question about a specific dog or situation, just ask.

Do Dogs Benefit From Regular Walks?

Absolutely — and the difference is noticeable. Dogs who receive consistent, enrichment-focused walks are calmer at home, better on leash, more confident in new environments, and generally more fulfilled. It's one of the most impactful things you can do for your dog's long-term wellbeing. We see it in our clients' dogs every day.

How are your dog walking services different from other options?

Most pet care platforms connect you with independent contractors — gig workers who may or may not have professional training. We're different. Our walkers are W2 employees: trained, background-checked, insured, and supported by manager oversight on every route. We focus on recurring, relationship-based care rather than one-off bookings, and every visit is enrichment-focused and followed by a detailed update with photos. For pet parents who want a team they can genuinely count on, that difference matters.

Can I Mix & Match Services With Member Rates?

Absolutely. When we build your plan during onboarding, our manager will work with you to create a custom weekly schedule that reflects your dog's needs — and your member rates apply across the board, regardless of which services you mix.

A typical mix might look like a Premium Adventure on Monday, Signature Walks Tuesday through Thursday, and a Balanced Walk on Friday. Schedules renew automatically each week, so you don't have to re-request anything. We can always adjust as your dog's routine evolves, and we can pause services to accommodate rotating work schedules with advance notice.
