How We Got Here

Started by Vet Techs Who Were Tired of Crossing Their Fingers

Hooman for Hire was founded by two pet-adoring individuals with backgrounds studying and working in veterinary clinics — people who spent their careers caring for animals with clinical precision and genuine compassion. We'd seen what good animal care looked like. And we'd seen what happened when it wasn't there.

As pet owners ourselves, we knew firsthand how hard it was to find someone truly trustworthy. We had very few contacts we would trust with the very specific needs of our own animals. Every time we needed to leave town or work a long shift, we were nervous. Were we asking too much? Were our standards too high?

We didn't think so. We thought there were a lot of pet parents in Anchorage who felt exactly the same way — people who cared deeply, who had detailed routines, who maybe even had a binder of information for their pet — and who deserved to be taken seriously instead of made to feel like they were being difficult.

So we built Hooman for Hire. A professional, employed, accountable pet care team designed for the pet owners who don't apologize for how much they love their animals. We've been serving Anchorage, Eagle River, and surrounding communities ever since.
